Care instructions and maintenance

In general, we recommend washing your clothes as infrequently as possible, since frequent washing wears out both your garments and the environment. Always follow these steps:
Garment has a stain
Spot clean with a cloth or wet wipe
Garment smell like smoke or have picked up other external odors
Hang outside or put in a freezer
Garment is generally dirty
Hand wash at maximum 30°
Do not wash
No iron
Do not tumble dry
Do not dry clean
Do not bleach

Over time, with use and washing, the drywax treatment on your garment will gradually wear off, reducing its weather resistance. Rewaxing is a simple way to restore this functionality and can easily be done at home or as bought as an in-house service at Artikel København. As our garments are made from 100% cotton, they naturally develop a unique patina with wear. While we appreciate the beauty of this aging process, we also understand the desire to restore a garment's original color. If your clothing begins to fade, we recommend re-dyeing it. This can also be done at home or through our in-house service at Artikel København. Additionally, Artikel offers a repair service for garments. If the issue is due to a construction fault, repairs are provided free of charge. For damage caused by wear, tear, or accidents, we offer repairs for a fee. Are you interested in the options above, or would you like our workshop to take a look at your garment? Fill out this formular and we will contact you:

The Raw edge series

The A pattern has been lengthened and transformed into a coat using Kvadrat’s sturdy furniture textile weighing 550 g/m with a Martindale of 100,000, ensuring unusual durability. This textile, resembling felt, allows for open seam spaces with raw edges that do not unravel. To leverage this characteristic, we have omitted seam allowances. Instead, the fabric is stitched together in two layers at the end, forming a significant part of the overall aesthetic while minimizing production time. The items have a sharp-edged sculptural and architectural expression.

The pocket flap is cut directly into the front piece and then folded up, with a pocket pouch attached to the inside.

100% wool from Great Britain by Kvadrat Textile. 100% new wool produced in United Kingdom, complied with EU ecolabel. The high martindale of 45 000 gives the fabric a unique durability resistant to pilling. The smooth, directionless and uniform surface is similar to the properties of felt.

Established in 1986, Danish company Kvadrat has become a leader in design innovation. Consistently pushing the aestethics, technological and functional properties in their production of high-performance design textiles. With their own weaving mills in England, Norway and the Netherlands; Kvadrat has a tight control on emissions, waste and resource use throughout the whole production and design process. The long list of their collaborations with leading designers, architects and artists include amongst others Olafur Eliasson, Raf Simons, Patricia Urquiola and Akira Minagawa. Sustainability-minded from the start, Kvadrat is highly commited to accelerating positive change and responsible business conduct.
